La Perfecta is a legendary group, emblematic of Martinique created in 1970 by Marcel Ravenet, Alex Cayol and Daniel Ravaud.
From 1978, with the arrival of bassist-pianist Daniel Marie-Alphonsine, La perfecta imposed popular music “made in Martinique” of international quality, different from the Cadence which dominated the West Indian music of the time. It's the “perfect sound”! For 50 years, with the passage of nearly 120 musicians, La Perfecta has significantly influenced the musical landscape in Martinique and several generations of West Indians. The group, led by Paulo Albin and Marius Priam, continues to open up to the world, performing in several countries but also integrating young musicians into the group in a spirit of “cultural transmission”.
